Twenty years ago, Evolution Home began as a small antique shop on the corner of Mount Vernon Ave in Del Ray, Virginia. We expanded to two retail spaces over those years, including a shop right next door to the original location. We opened a home staging and furniture leasing company, Market Ready Staging Solutions, with a location in Alexandria Virginia off of Richmond Highway.

Several years ago, we moved our entire operation to a (much) larger space on Richmond Highway, just one mile south of the Beltway. With the new space, our business has grown exponentially, thanks in large part to our customers and dedicated staff. In Spring of 2022 we moved to an even newer location in Alexandria’s West End. Because of this growth, we need to hire new team members and continue to grow the Evolution Home team.

Open Postions

Evolution Home is looking for a full time Store Manager with retail and sales experience. Candidates must be available for full-day retail shifts (10am-6pm), including some weekends. Hourly rate is negotiable commensurate with experience.

The Store Manager must have experience with the following:

  • Successfully managing staff

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Highly organized and detail oriented

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Interest in vintage treasures is a plus

Evolution Home is looking for a Retail Associate with retail and sales experience. Ideal candidate should be available a minimum of 2 shifts, up to 4 shifts per week (10am-6pm). Hourly rate is negotiable commensurate with experience. The Retail Associate will be responsible for:

  • Working on the Evolution Home sales floor during store hours

  • Assisting customers with purchasing and shopping

  • Providing friendly customer service in a fast paced and unique vintage retail setting

  • Supporting the Store Manager in other relevant tasks, including staging and moving furniture and home décor

Evolution Home is looking for a Consignment Associate with an eye for vintage décor and interior design. Our ideal candidate should have a keen interest in and knowledge of various eras, styles and collections. Ideal candidate should be available a minimum of 2 shifts, up to 4 shifts per week (10am-6pm). Hourly rate is negotiable commensurate with experience.

Other requirements:

  • Comfortable with computers and data entry

  • Detail oriented

  • Ability to prioritize and stay on task in a fast paced environment

  • Tactful and considerate when declining items for consignment

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift or carry furniture

  • Must have a smart phone
