Introducing First Fridays at Evolution home

Join The Evolution Home Team and Dealers for a special new event. On the First Friday of every month, Evolution Home will remain open until 7pm. Refreshments will be served starting at 5pm, Dealers will be on hand to answer questions, and a special guest speaker will present starting at 5:30pm. No need to RSVP.

On June 2, 2023, Evolution Home dealer Richard Green will talk about 18th and 19th century household objects made from metals like pewter, brass, copper, and iron. He will share his advice on how to care for and clean these metals. And he will talk about how these metals were fashioned into household objects like bowls, candlesticks, kitchen pots, and fireplace tools.

Richard’s interest in and knowledge of metals is reflected in his dealer cabinet at Evolution Home. Prior to joining Evolution Home as a dealer five years ago, Richard forged an eclectic path professionally. He worked for the Old Sturbridge Village museum in Massachusetts, where he learned to work with iron as a blacksmith. He has been a dealer at an antique mall in Ohio and exhibited on the antique show circuit for 15 years prior to relocating to Alexandria. He also has worked with auction houses on the identification of metal objects.
